BBV9743 is a universal broadband preamplifier with high gain and low internal noise. The wide frequency range of up to 6 GHz allows measurements according to CISPR 22.

   BBV9743 is a universal broadband preamplifier with high gain and low internal noise. The wide frequency range of up to 6 GHz allows measurements according to CISPR 22. Because of the high gain and low noise figure, system noise is almost independent of other components including cables and receivers. These features make BBV9743 very useful for measuring the very low limits required by CISP25. In this case, it will be directly connected to the antenna.

      The amplifier has two stages. The first stage uses ESD-protected MMIC to prevent defects caused by accidental electrostatic discharge. However, preamplifiers are generally ESD sensitive devices, so it is very important to discharge the coaxial cable before connecting. This is a necessary precaution to protect extremely small semiconductor structures operating in the microwave frequency range.

       It must be noted that for the measurement of pulse signals, it is generally not recommended to use a preamplifier, and any broadband preamplifier is not suitable for electromagnetic compatibility measurement of broadband pulse spectrum.

       BBV 9743 has an aluminum housing and uses N-type flange connectors. A standard wall plug power supply with +12 V DC output can be used. Switching power supplies are not recommended because they may cause higher interference levels.

       The internal protection circuit slows down the rising and falling edges of the power supply to prevent internal components and receivers from being damaged by peak voltages. If the receiver, analyzer or battery can provide 0.13A/12V current, they can also be powered by these instruments.
